I ordered Liver and Onions, which were cleaned and cooked well with a rich dark gravy with crispy lettuce on top, served on a piece of butter lettuce. Chose two sides: garlic mashed potatoes and salad. The potatoes were lumpy (in a good way) and red skins included. Subtle garlic flavor and nicely seasoned. The house is beautifully restored with original floors, high ceilings and fireplaces in each room. Come to learn the history of this special landmark and have a nice meal in a quiet, sleepy town.

Cute place. Boring, bland food. Edible, but blah . Menu, either poorly descriptive or poorly executed. The "Parmesan truffle potato skins" sounded great. What we received were bland russet potato halves covered in red skin mashed potatoes and tomato and onion vinaigrette. Ok. Weird. I ordered the grouper, they were out. I ordered the "shrimp" served either "grilled, or scampi. I chose scampi. It was served on pasta. No mention of pasta on menu. Service was slow. Salad plate was warm. No horrendous missteps but so many small issues add up to overall dissatisfaction. I would come back for drinks because the house is cool and kinda haunty and to possibly try another appetizer but I wouldn't plan another dinner here.

Decided to try here one more time. Same result: exceedingly slow service and rather average food. One of the more frustrating places I've dined at.

My wife, daughter and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. Very disappointed with the food given the prices charged. Fettuccine Alfredo was bland. My wife had soup and it was so-so. Likely not to go back given the cost charged for average food. Only upside was the quaint atmosphere.

been there twice now tried a bunch of things and loved every single one of them. Terrific service, full bar, friendly service. You have to try the calamari:. So tender. Battery garlicky lemony goodness. Best I've ever had. Will be back again and again.

The first time we came here, we waited almost 2 hours to order our food, after we were seated. we decided to give it a second chance, and made a reservation for 5 pm the day before Thanksgiving. My family and I traveled 5 hours to visit family and enjoy dinner at the historic Dowling House. The reservation was confirmed on Monday. There was no answer when we phoned to confirm the day of the reservation, so we drove over. There was a sign on the door indicating that they would be open 4-10pm. We showed up for our 5pm reservation today, and the doors were locked. We will not be bringing our business to this place to give it another chance. It was very frustrating to plan a family trip/dinner, only to have it abruptly cancelled. We will go to The Brown Lantern; I'm sure they will be happy for our patronage, unlike Dowling House.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
